Releasing the Ghosts of the Past: A Path to Healing and Peace
The crisp autumn air and shortening days tell us that things are slowing down. But for many of us, the end of the year brings an even more powerful energy: the ghosts of the past. These aren’t spooky spirits from a Halloween movie; they’re the emotional wounds, old stories, and painful memories that we all carry within. They can feel heavy, and sometimes, they can feel like they're holding us back.

I know this journey to self-discovery can be challenging. I've felt that heaviness myself, that ache of a past unpleasant experience that just won’t seem to leave. But I've also learned that you can gently lay those burdens down. You can create a compassionate space for yourself to finally release what no longer serves your spirit. Healing isn’t about forcing yourself to forget. It’s about creating an opening, a safe space for those old emotions to be acknowledged and then set free.

For 10 years, I was in an abusive relationship that grew more and more abusive over time. Even after it ended, he found ways to torment me through the custody of our daughter. Though he was eventually deported, and I was in a safe, healthy relationship with a partner who treated me with respect, the trauma stayed with me. I would often wake up from nightmares that he was in my home and wouldn't leave—my heart pounding, unable to go back to sleep. All day, I would feel on edge. But as I began consistently practicing breathwork and other somatic exercises, the nightmares slowly became less frequent. On the rare occasion I do have one, I'm now finding that my actions in these nightmares are empowered. I know he can't hurt me anymore, and when I tell him this, he leaves. This journey has shown me that true healing is possible.

Here’s a simple practice you can try right now to release some of that old energy gently.

The Calming Exhale Breath
Find a quiet, comfortable seat. Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose, counting to four. Hold your breath for a moment, then slowly exhale through your mouth for a count of six. As you exhale, imagine you are releasing a gray, murky fog from your body. Do these three to five times. This longer exhale helps to calm your nervous system and signal to your body that it's safe to let go.

This simple breath is a first step toward creating more peace. It is a powerful tool you always have with you. If you're ready to go deeper and truly feel a sense of lightness, there is more you can do.

In the Healing Light workshop, I'll use breathwork as a foundation, then we'll move into guided meditation and distance Reiki. We’ll work together to create an inner sanctuary where you can finally feel a deep sense of peace. You deserve to step into your full potential without the weight of the past holding you back. This is your time to bloom. I invite you to join me for this nurturing and healing journey.

10 Minutes to Calm

You don't have to carry the world on your own anymore. This is your space to find quiet clarity.

I know what it feels like to hold it all together while secretly falling apart.
On the outside, life looks full. You are the professional, the mother with kids in college, the one who manages the household with a steady hand. You’ve created a life that looks "tidy" to the world, but inside, it feels like a beautiful, heavy mess.
I lived there for years. I know the internal pressure to appear content when you actually feel a quiet, nagging loneliness. I know the "mysterious symptoms"—the tight chest, the restless nights, and the way your body seems to be shouting what your voice won't say.

I felt like I was "too much" for some and "not enough" for others.
I spent a lifetime performing, thinking that if I just changed enough or did enough, I would finally be safe. I was the ultimate people-pleaser, losing my own light while trying to keep everyone else’s world bright. If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t quite fit in, even in your own home, I see you.

The shift didn't come from a "to-do" list.
It came when I stopped trying to think my way out of the overwhelm and started breathing my way through it. I discovered that the way back to your heart isn't about fixing yourself—it’s about loving yourself through the mess.
Through breathwork and gentle somatic release, I found a quiet clarity I didn't think was possible for someone as sensitive as me. I learned to gently embrace the parts of my life that feel unfinished and imperfect.

Now, I guide women like you to set the weight down.
By simply learning to listen to what your body is trying to tell you, we work together to find that safe, peaceful energy you’ve been longing for. This isn't about more "mindwork" or trendy jargon; it’s about a human-to-human connection that helps you:

  • Actually hear your own voice again, underneath everyone else's expectations.
  • Release the heaviness of social media envy and the guilt of "not doing enough."
  • Stop the constant 'mental loop' so you can actually sleep at night.
You are worthy of care and belonging, exactly as you are—even on the days when things feel heavy. Let’s take a breath together and begin.
